Monroeville IS Visitor Friendly

The American Coaster Enthusiasts haven’t held conventions in Monroeville just because Kennywood Park and its beloved roller coasters are practically in the city’s backyard.

The group also takes advantage of the high value offered by Monroeville hotels, meeting spaces, and restaurants—and the expert meeting planning assistance of the Convention Visitors Bureau of Greater Monroeville (CVBGM). Indeed, the CVBGM reaches out to hundreds of thousands of people every year, promoting Greater Monroeville as a wonderful destination with great shopping, parks, and community events.

“We consider ourselves ambassadors,” says Sandy Rice, CVBGM executive director. “As the first contact potential visitors often make, we provide a wealth of good information about the richness (Monroeville’s offerings. We’re proud that Monroeville visitors have a terrific time, and that their business supports the continued prosperity and strong commercial tax base municipal residents enjoy.”

In addition to the American Coasters Enthusiast, the CVBGM has helped many service organizations and religious groups put on conferences here, providing them with meeting planning assistance ranging from setting up meeting technology to providing well-received giveaways.

Helping with the Jain Convention was one of the bureau’s most challenging and most rewarding efforts.

“We had to quickly understand and work with a different culture from our own,” said Sandy. “We were pleased to be able to make this group feel glad it had chosen to meet in Monroeville.”

In addition to providing traditional meeting planning services, the bureau has two buses for transporting conventioneers to and from Monroeville’s meeting spaces, hotels, and shopping.

“We want to make sure people know that in Monroeville they’ll experience the best in hospitality and fun,” Sandy added. “When they come here and have a good time, we know they’ll tell their friends.”

“We can help with any and everything,” further added Sandy. “Just outline what you need—the best hotel rates, tours, or transportation. We’ll even take care of such details as conference room reservations, catering, and meeting technology. In short, we make it our business to ensure Monroeville is a hassle-free destination.’

When conventioneers and meeting-goers are not riding the CVBGM buses, the buses are often in use by Monroeville seniors going from the senior center to Greater Monroeville shopping malls. Other municipal residents have had the opportunity to ride the buses during such events as the Monroeville Arts Festival and the Community Day Picnic.

This is just another example of how CVBGM is committed to enriching our already-rich community. “Whether we’re bringing groups to the area or sending out our buses to give rides to seniors, our goal is to see Monroeville continue to be a great place,” said Sandy.

Outstanding meeting facilities and services... great hometown attractions... easy access to Pittsburgh... free planning support from the Convention Visitors Bureau of Greater Monroeville. This is just some of what you get from the bureau.
