Omni William Penn Hotel
Redefining Service and Elegance

The Omni William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh’s premier historic hotel continues her journey to the grandeur and elegance that this city’s “Grande Dame” heralded upon opening her doors in 1916! Improvements began immediately following the purchase of the property by Omni Hotels in February of 2001 and have been ongoing.

Improvements have included the spectacular main lobby, captivating guests as they enter with beautiful ornate marble flooring, elegant wall coverings, new furnishings, high speed wireless, and a new state of the art sound system. Long considered one of Pittsburgh’s most beautiful spaces, the main lobby of the hotel welcomes you with its three dazzling ornate antique crystal chandeliers! A new meeting room on the Mezzanine Level opened, replacing what was previously the Grant Suites with the Lawrence Welk Room. Major renovations wrapped up with the unveiling of a spectacular new 2,250 square-foot guest fitness center. The center features the latest in strength and training equipment, free weights, exercise balls, floor mats, strength bands, and a variety of other equipment and training aides. The new fitness center has men’s and ladies locker rooms with showers, and a comfortable seating area adorned with a fireplace and overstuffed chairs. Complimentary fresh fruit and bottled water are also a standard. More recent improvements include a comprehensive refurbishment of the Conference Center, a self contained meeting center located on the Conference Level of the hotel, and four additional meeting rooms located on this level. Most recently, a sample guest room was completed within the hotel that is representative of the hotel’s upcoming guest room renovations.

The Omni William Penn Hotel boasts 596 elegantly appointed guest rooms, and 52,000 square feet of functional meeting and banquet space comprised of 36 rooms. The elegant Grand Ballroom is adorned with crystal chandeliers, and a balcony surrounded by an ornate gold rail. Just off of the main lobby is the Terrace Room Restaurant, which offers “Modern American” cuisine in an elegant setting. Monthly Jazz nights are a featured event at the Terrace Room, taking the hotel back to its roots of providing great entertainment for Pittsburgher’s over the years. The beautiful Palm Court lobby lounge offers traditional afternoon high tea, an ages-old tradition at the hotel. Hot tea, freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream and raspberry preserves, finger sandwiches, and cocktails whisk you back in time to an era of times past.

The opulence, striking beauty, and charming presence of this historic landmark have captivated guests from around the world since 1916. Long considered the “Grande Dame” of the city, the hotel is known for attracting famous politicians as well as stars of Hollywood past and present. Today, the Omni William Penn Hotel retains that heritage while providing the latest in modern amenities and conveniences.
