Have a Great Visit The summer has ended, it’s September and fall is here. Well, that’s not exactly correct. While it is true that the month is September, the kids are back in school, and football season well underway, summer still has a full three weeks to go, Labor Day notwithstanding. And this month is one of the most pleasant of all for most places across the land. This is certainly so in the Pittsburgh area and Western Pennsylvania. The days are warm, sunshine filled days with less humidity, and cool nights where a light blanket might feel good. The ever so subtle beginnings of the changing of the leafs that always signals a season change are usually the order of the day for this month.
Located at the airport and situated where the old airport terminal was is a growing private concern, Atlantic Aviation Business Center. The Dallas based firm just completed a $5 million expansion which doubled its space and enhanced its leadership position in serving corporations, sports team charters, private charters, and general aviation enthusiasts. The expansion is certain to broaden its growing customer base. Also in this issue is a dining review on one fabulous restaurant. How I sometimes envy our writer, especially when her assignment is one like this month’s - The Original Fish Market Restaurant at The Westin Convention Center Hotel. This month’s cover features Pittsburgh’s newest hotel. The Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown, opened in late June with much excitement and anticipation. The 143-unit hotel is located in the historic Strip District on Smallman Street across from Heinz History Center, and just a short walk from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Strip District’s restaurants, night life, and open markets are just minutes from the hotel. Finally, a warm welcome to you our readers. Have a wonderful time in Pittsburgh. If you’re new to the city, a first-time visitor, I’m sure you’ll be surprised as many others before you have been. The rivers are clean, the skies blue, and the area is filled with lush, green vegetation. Have a great visit! Enjoy yourself. And once again, welcome! A. Robert Scott
