Enjoy October

In last month’s issue I wrote that the summer was not really over even though it was September. Tradition says the summer ends with Labor Day even though three weeks of the season remain.

Well, let there be no doubt my friend, summer is now well past.

“…the summer is ended…”
Jeremiah 8:20

But now we have Indian Summer to look forward to and to enjoy during this month of October.

What a glorious month October can be and usually is, especially in western Pennsylvania…and as it is in so many other parts of this wonderful country.

hootersThe summer is now but a memory, family vacations and travel done; it’s Indian Summer as we careen toward November, December, the holidays, and the end of the year.

However, let’s not get there too quickly. Take the time to enjoy the landscape. Enjoy October.

The fall colors, the turning of the leaves can be as spectacular here as anywhere. This time of the year is usually pleasant with warm afternoons and cool evenings.

The October issue of Pittsburgh Point is the second of two back-to-back issues that focus on the AIRPORT AREA. The focus begins on page 23 and continues through page 31.

About the Cover

On this month’s cover are the Hooters Girls from Station Square and Monroeville.

The brainchild of six businessmen, the first Hooters opened in 1985 in Clearwater, Florida.

Hooters is famous for good food, cold beer, and oh yes, served by beautiful girls.

Hooters makes you happy!
